About Loving ZAH Energy

What is REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese energy-based practice focused on supporting the body’s natural capacity for regulation, balance, and healing. At its core, Reiki works with the concept that the body functions best when the nervous system is calm, energy flow is unobstructed, and the mind is not in a constant stress response.

Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. The word itself combines:

  • Rei — universal, innate, or all-encompassing
  • Ki — life energy (a concept also seen as Qi in Chinese medicine or Prana in yogic systems)

Rather than directing or forcing energy, Reiki practitioners act as facilitators, allowing energy to move where the body appears to need support.

What Happens During Reiki

  • The recipient remains fully clothed and rests comfortably.
  • The practitioner places hands lightly on or just above the body in specific positions.
  • There is no manipulation, massage, or pressure.
  • Sessions are quiet and often paired with breathwork or sound.

Many people report sensations such as warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, emotional release, or mental clarity. Others simply experience rest still a meaningful outcome.

Why People Use Reiki

ndividuals often seek Reiki for:

  • Stress and emotional overload
  • Grief or transitional life periods
  • Burnout and nervous system fatigue
  • Intentional rest when the mind struggles to slow down

Reiki and Sound Healing

When combined with sound (such as singing bowls or frequency-based instruments), Reiki is thought to deepen relaxation by engaging both sensory input (sound) and somatic stillness (energy work) helping the body let go more efficiently.

In essence, Reiki is less about “doing” and more about creating the conditions for the body to restore itself.
